Makin Construction have built a new brick and rendered tile carport structure for our house at Coombabah. They also converted our existing garage into a new bedroom which included new walls, door, windows flooring and carpets.
Nick, his co-workers and subcontractors were always punctual and reliable. They were polite and very easy to deal with. The quality of the finished work done was very good and I would be very happy to recommend Makin Construction to anyone wanting quality building work.
We have recently undertaken some major building works at our home, and contracted Makin Construction to undertake the job.
The quality of work was without question, and what really impressed me was Nick’s commitment to customer service. He kept us updated through every stage of the project, and there was not one occasion where I had to chase for information, updates, or push to get things moving. (A very refreshing change !)

I would highly recommend Nick Makin as a highly competent builder. Nick recently built a double car garage at my property and it was a pleasure having Nick on site.
There were a few issues with the initial plans but these were dealt with easily due to Nick’s foresight and his ability to offer alternate options.

On September 2013, Nick Makin of Makin Constructions, commenced work on our proposed first floor extension above an existing media room (former double garage). Nick estimated a ten week pre-Christmas completion date; the only concern being the onset of the storm season and potential hold ups. We all agreed to give it a go, a decision made easier by Nick’s assurance that he and his crew would do their best to mitigate any storm damage; he also organised extra insurance at a very good rate.
Living on a building site can for some, be a little stressful. Similarly, for a builder having the owner sticking his nose in every day could be a ‘pain’. Nevertheless, we all got on very well and despite a hold up with trusses and one night of rain, the job was completed precisely as Nick said it would. We had a great Christmas.
My wife and I have nothing but praise for the extremely professional manner in which our home was partially demolished, re built to a better standard and added onto. Our family, friends and neighbours reactions all ran with a common thread insomuch that the upstairs extension looks like it was meant to be.
